week 6, WACK STUFF
Welcome back to the weekly vlog, thank you for reading. Let's start with p day! We had a district P day this week and we went to downtown Charleston! It was so pretty and I got to see the ocean which was hype! The houses there were gorgeous. Lowkey, I want one real bad so let's hope I am a millionaire one day so I can. We went through a market place while we were there and I bought a ring and some cute postcards with pretty pictures of Charleston on them! Then we all went to this pizza place and this pizza was HUGE!!! It took two paper plates to be able to carry it, it was wack but really good!
Southerners can talk. Lessons are typically supposed to be like thirty minutes but when you start talking with people here they have to tell you their whole life story and it ends up being like an hour, which isn't a bad thing except when you have other lessons that day that you are now gonna be late for! One of the funnier moments was Tuesday when we went to go visit a less active and take them some cookies and invite them to church. We showed up and we started talking and she talked to us for two hours! We tried to leave like three times and she just kept going, it was pretty funny! We started getting up and walked to our car and she followed us out there and talked to us while we sat in the car with the car in drive. Now don't get me wrong I love talking with people and she was a super nice lady but we were a little bit busy that day.
Ok prepare yourselves because there is even more crazy wack stuff that happened. On Monday after P day was almost over, me and my companion heard a ton of sirens and they were super loud so we looked outside and there were police, ambulances, and fire trucks EVERYWHERE in the parking lot of our apartment. Ends up the building across the parking lot had a dryer explode so there was a big fire. Luckily no one was hurt and they were able to put the fire out but it was a very crazy night! It really is making my life interesting haha!
Fast Sundays in the branch are pretty hilarious. One specific testimony was very interesting. Basically what she kept repeating was that there are no depressed people, just lazy people which was quite awkward. Anyways there was one day this week that was a struggle and me and my companion were super frustrated and felt like we were just being so ineffective because no one would talk to us or wouldn't open their door but then we knocked on the house of one of our less active members and she was the sweetest! She set up a day for us to come back and give a lesson and she even offered to feed us! She didn't know it but that interaction changed our day, it was such a blessing!!
spiritual thought:
We have this thing called Zone Vision and it is like a "theme" for our zone! This transfer the vision is COURAGE FOR THE LORD IS ON OUR SIDE! And something that someone talked about is the importance of recognizing when God is coming to our aide! This is so so important because it can help us realize that God is really always there, he does not leave us alone. And shoutout to my seminary teacher Brother Rossel because in his class everyday we would write something from the last day or week where we recognized God's hand in our life! I have started to do this over the last few days and it already has helped me so much in adjusting and it has given me a lot of courage knowing that God really is working in my life! I know that he is always there for me and he is always there for y'all as well!
Love y'all so much and God does too!!!
