SLAY THE BOOTS DOWN 🥾 (June 19, 2023)
Wassup yall, welcome back to another fun week in the boro!!
Had some fire miracles this week!
-jack and david's dad did not want them to be baptized but then after joining us in a lesson with his kids he changed his mind! They are progressing so well towards their baptismal date of June 30th!!!
-we have gotten an absurd amount of plants from inactive members and non members, our apartment is basically a garden now.
-we had a meal with an inactive member, Brother Carter! His son and his sons wife (non members) joined us and we got to teach a lesson!! The wife, Nicole, was super interested and even said she would try and come to the relief society activity and that she wanted to hangout with us on a P-day!!! We are so excited to see what happens!!
- Pday was lit, we went to a big tree called an angel oak (pictured down below) with the district because it was "raining", and then we got pizza and ice cream which is always hype!
- Me and Wilson had a lot of laughs and we were able to get through some hard days this week!
We've got a new saying in our district, "slay the big boots down", in normal words basically doing a good job, it's pretty funny (at least to us it is)! Our Zone Leaders joined in on the joke too, it's pretty lit! (Wrote all that before now but it's expanded to our Zone chat as well, viral lol)
As a zone this week we read the talk, "The Infinite Power of Hope" by Elder Uchdtorf and the whole thing is just amazing so all of yall should go check it out! One of my favorite parts is when he lists of the different things we hope "for" (salvation, eternal peace, life beyond expectations) and the things we have hope "in" (Jesus Christ, presence of Holy Ghost, prayers being answered). He then went on to say that the things we hope for lead us to faith and the things we hope in lead us to charity! I just loved that so much and it really made me think about how they all play into eachother and that as we increase one, the others will increase as well!
