Happy America Day πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸŽ†. (July 10, 2023)

Yall here we are again! Another day, another week! Here's a few highlights!!

-met our new friend Rhonda!!! She is so amazing! We taught her about the book of mormon and how it can bring us peace and she started crying and opened up to us about some of her struggles and she said this message was exactly what she needed! She is so excited to learn more and we are so so excited to see her progress and find peace through Jesus Christ!
-4th of July, not gonna lie I didn't even realize it was the 4th until someone asked us what we were doing to celebrate. We awkwardly looked at eachother and shrugged, we had no plans haha! We ended up watching a few fireworks from our apartment balcony before going to bed pretty early because we were exhausted.
- zone conference this week!!! We got to meet our new mission president and his wife!!! President and Sister Hamblin are the sweetest! During one of our breaks President Hamblin had us all gather up and we had a speed walking relay race and it was sooo funny. They definitely slay the big boots down. And we were combined with Greenville East so we got to see some missionaries we hadn't seen in a second (in our zone and in GE)! Shoutout Sister Babcock, Sister Smith, Elder Knowlton, Sister Hess, Sister Phillips, and Elder Wright!!! It was both so fun and spiritual at the same time!!
- Said goodbye to Hailee since she is moving to California with her dad for a bit.... luckily we got to do the restoration with her one last time (that's her favorite lesson) and they had fun at the end of the lesson with the cups we used to teach them. (Photo down below and Video in photo album haha)
- my parents were able to send me my ukulele through the mail and so for the last little bit I have been able to learn some of my favorite primary songs and hymns on the ukulele which has been super fun!
- CRAZIEST SUNDAY!!! I get to church with my comp and before we set our stuff down we always greet people at the door and it ends up there is FSY at the college in our area and the counselors get to come to the ward we are serving in and so we were just talking with one of the counselors and I hear someone say," EMMA?!" And at first I was very confused because I am not used to hearing my first name but then after I looked up I saw none other than my college roommate SYDNEY!!! I literally started crying, it was the funnest reunion ever! She is an FSY counselor so she'll be here for three weeks which is so cool!!!

Sorry for the extra long email this week but I just want to leave yall with a scripture!!!
1 Nephi 19:9
" And the world, because of their iniquity, shall judge him to be a thing of naught; wherefore they scourge him, and he suffereth it; and they smite him, and he suffereth it. Yea, they spit upon him, and he suffereth it, because of his loving kindness and his long-suffering towards the children of men."

This scripture came up in my study of charity this week and it's one of the many scriptures that talks about how Jesus Christ showed charity and love and how he truly is the perfect example. He suffered so much pain, anguish and hateful things because he loves us so much! I can't express enough my gratitude and love for him and knowing he suffered all these things because he loves us brings me so much peace. It is one of the greatest reminders to all of us that no matter how much someone may hurt our feelings or say unkind things to us or how much we may feel unloved that Jesus Christ loves us no matter what!

Love yall so much and God loves you even more!!!

Love, Sister Jolley:)
