Where'd all the time go (July 24, 2023)
Alright, I feel like I keep saying this but the week went by so quick, time is just gone!
Here's some highlights:
- got some cute pics in front of a cute wall for p day
- a part member family gave us butterscotch banana bread, it was SO GOOD!
- had dinner with William and Teresa!! They took us to a sushi and hibachi place, it was so so hype! They cooked the food right in front of us which I have never experienced. The jokes were very corny but we laughed of course!!
-our new friend Tatyana (another part member family) is wanting to get baptized in August!!! Wooo!!! She is so amazing and so so prepared!! Keep her in your prayers!!
- helped one of our members pack and move all her boxes into a moving van, we carried twenty solar panels out of her house, it was tiring but so fun!!
- I got to have my interview with President and Sister Hamblin! I got to know them a little better!! They are the BEST!
- went with the Elders to drop off a Book of Mormon to a member that was apparently new to the area and didn't have one. Let's just say it was an interesting experience and the Elders told us to not go back and that they would handle it from now on, if you want the details, message me (it's too long to put into the email)
-we showed up to our friend Timothy's house and when we asked him if he had read the first chapter of the Book of Mormon like we challenged him to, he said he had and we saw where his book mark was and ends up he read 14 CHAPTERS in two days!!! He is amazing and very excited to keep reading!
-hit 6 months as a missionary!! It's crazy how quickly it has gone by! I'm so grateful for this chance I have to be here in South Carolina and to help bring people closer to their Savior! I have loved every minute of it! (Even the hard parts!)
Spiritual thought
This past week I really thought a lot about eternal families and how important that knowledge can be! As many of you know this last week on Wednesday marked 7 years since my little sister Hannah passed away. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have the knowledge and testimony that I will get to see her again. I know that it is because of our Savior that families can be together forever and that death is not the end.
Mosiah 16:7-8
"7 And if Christ had not risen from the dead, or have broken the bands of death that the grave should have no victory, and that death should have no sting, there could have been no resurrection.
8 But there is a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ."
I have faith in Jesus Christ, that he truly did die for each of us and that because of him, there is hope. There is always hope in Christ.
Love yall so much and God loves you even more! Reach out if you need anything!
Love, Sister Jolley:)
