Hurricane Evacuation (Monday August 28, 2023)
Dear Parents,
President Hamblin is keeping careful track of the progress of tropical storm Idalia. All missionaries in the South Carolina Columbia Mission coastal zones have been advised that they need to be ready to evacuate tomorrow morning if necessary. Please know that each of your missionaries have a copy of our Emergency Evacuation Plan and know which inland missionaries they will be staying with if evacuated.

Dear Missionary Parents, Hurricane Idalia is predicted to hit Georgia and the South Carolina Coast tomorrow morning. Currently ALL missionaries in or by coastal areas in Georgia and South Carolina are going inland. A big whiteboard in the mission office is being used to keep track that each evacuated missionary safely reaches their evacuation apartment. Evacuated missionaries will be given permission to make a 5 minute phone call to home each day for the next three days. Missionaries are also being instructed to stay in their assigned apartments tomorrow during the storm, even if they think it's safe to go out. We are not expecting any big problems, but are being very cautious to insure the safety of each missionary. If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to contact me. Sister Pam Hoffman Mission Secretary (916-207-7218)
