Hurricane Tortilla

Ok the title of this email is kinda lame and cringe but oh well! There was a hurricane this week, a bunch of missionaries got evacuated, I was pretty much unaffected besides a little bit of rain! Interesting day to say the least. Moving on to the highlights of the week: - had a meal with a family that is related to one of the families I was really close to in Walterboro! It was so fun to talk with them and get to know them! - got hot chocolate with Sis Spiker even though it's like 90 degrees outside - got some real good advice from an awesome family in our ward, the Funks! -walked a lot - Brenda decided to quit coffee and tea and literally gave us her coffee to throw away!! Which then we were able to move her date up TWO WEEKS!! She just glows with light and happiness already and it makes my heart happy!! Keep her in your prayers that she will stay strong and keep growing her testimony!! - saw some pretty sunsets and sunrises, my favorite :) One of my all time favorite things is to study charity and this last week that's what I really focused on!! I read an awesome talk by Elder C. Max Caldwell titled, "Love of Christ" and in that he talks about 3 dimensions of the "love of Christ" Love FOR Christ Love FROM Christ Love LIKE Christ I just briefly want to share about the Love FOR Christ! Elder Caldwell said, "Our lives should be an external expression of our gratitude for him. Sometimes that is difficult to do.....Things we don’t enjoy must not overshadow our reasons to maintain our love for the Savior. Otherwise we may lose our perspective or become bitter, and our love for Christ may be lost." Gratitude for Christ in both the good times and the bad can bring us so much joy and our love for him will increase as we recognize him in our lives! He is there, I know he is! Love yall!
