1 year ❤️ (Jan 29, 2024)
Ok I have to start this email with gratitude! I have been a missionary for one year and I am so so grateful for each of you and for those around me that have shown me so much support and love through the good and the bad! I've learned so much over these last 12 months and I can't wait to continue learning!!
Highlights:
-Had my first ever bike day on my mission and all I'm gonna say is though I had fun riding around I can't imagine it being my only mode of transportation. Shoutout all bike missionaries, I stand with yall fr fr!
- we found some pretty cool people that we have been trying to meet with since I first got here! Such a good reminder that God's timing is perfect!
- ZONE CONFERENCE!! Easily one of my favorite zone conferences! Got to see the homies and had a good time! The spiritual trainings were so amazing and I needed to hear what was being said so badly! Never took so many notes haha!
-Sis Helm was super sick on Saturday so we had to stay in but I got to do a fun puzzle, cleaned, Mom'd Sis Helm just a wee bit haha, read a ton in PMG and the Book of Mormon! It was raining the whole time and it was lowkey so relaxing. By the end of the day though I was ready to be back out haha!
-hit an armadillo 🥲 (I was depressed the rest of the night.... poor thing was in the middle-of-the-road, back turned, on a sharper turn, at 9 o clock at night..... I tried to not hit it but failed)
As I studied this week I read the conference talk Daily Restoration by Elder Uchtdorf and it is so beautiful!!
Some favorite lines/thoughts:
-Small, seemingly insignificant factors can make a major difference in our lives (both for good and bad)
-Minutes and hours well spent are the building blocks of a life well lived!
-Our daily repentance is like a garden of reflection. We can walk with the Lord and re-align with the spiritual landmarks.
-Daily restoration opens our hearts to Heavenly light which illuminates our souls, chasing away shadows, fears, and doubts!
Turn our view of repentance to that of change for the better! As my mission president often reminds us, "Repentance is not a dark duty but a bright privilege." We can see more light, more joy, more peace in our lives as we strive each day to work on our own "personal restoration." God will be proud of us as we do. His light will shine brighter in our lives and those around us will be able to recognize that light as His!
Love yall and God loves you even more!
