Week five!!!

What is up everybody! This week was a fun one! First off it is SO HOT, I do love it but it really doesn't feel like February. Sister Carter says that is gets even worse in the summer so hopefully I don't melt in June and July.

This week we had zone conference! It was so amazing! Me and Sister Carter had to drive about an hour and a half to get to the stake building where they held it but it was a very pretty drive so I didn't mind! We had like 2 and a half hours of training from our mission president which was so good! One of the things he talked about was the atonement and how we can apply the enabling power of the atonement when a major sin is not involved. There was so much he gave us but my favorite was "do not ask for trials to be removed, rather ask instead that you are given strength to make them light", he gave some amazing scriptures along with that, MOSIAH 24: 14-15 and ALMA 31:30-31. There was a lot more points and scriptures so if you would like them please message me on Facebook or email me because they are so amazing and can help us all grow closer to our Savior!

The second half started out with a musical number and guess what it was me and my companion, and two other sisters in the district!! I did not think I would be singing in front of people at all while I was out here, oh how wrong I was haha! But we sang Gethsemane while Sister Carter played the guitar. That song is one of my favorite songs, it always brings the spirit so strongly!! I'll try and include a video down below. After our song we had three hours of role-playing while President did interviews with everyone! It was hard and a little scary but I learned so much!

Alright biggest blessing of the week!! Our cute friend Lindsay is ON DATE FOR BAPTISM!!! She is so amazing and I am so so excited for her! I guess the rule in training is that the younger companion or trainee has to give every baptismal invite for like the first six weeks (or something like that I don't know) so I gave her the invitation which was so so nerve wracking but she said yes and so she is now preparing to be baptized on her birthday!! (Which is a bit far out but it is still amazing!) Please please keep her in your prayers that she will continue to progress and maybe she will move her date up a bit! That was definitely the highlight of my week!

Ok last thing, I got my first taste of southern church worship! We have a Part member family (PMF) that we are working with and the wife invited us to come with them and their family to their church on Saturday and watch a Christian singer Michael Combs, perform. So we talked with our Zone Leaders and decided we would do a little church swap, if we went to theirs, they would go to ours. So we got there and it was a pretty fun experience! Yes people really do stand up, raise their hands and sway and yell out things like, "amen" "hallelujah" "praise jesus" "yes lord". It was pretty fun to watch, now it was very loud, like extremely loud so we didn't feel the spirit like at all but one or two of the songs had some pretty good messages about Christ. I also have some videos of this that I will share!

This week was full of so much and I wish I could write them all but this is all for now! I love you all so much!!!
