I'M A MOM???!! 👶 (August 7, 2023)
Yall, crazy week and some exciting news!!!
First off, it was transfer week so here's the update......
I'm training a new missionary (hence the title of the email)!!!! I am nervous but overall extremely excited!!! I'm going to miss Sis. Wilkinson but she is going to do amazing things over in Greenville East!!! My new companion is Sister Spiker!!! She is literally the cutest! She is from Boise, Idaho! It's gonna be so fun!
Besides transfers here's some more highlights of the week:
-Tatyana is on date for baptism on August 19!!!! She basically put herself on date and she is so excited and so prepared for this next step of coming closer to Jesus Christ! Keep her in your prayers these next few weeks as she continues to prepare!!
-Our friend Lindsey has been telling everyone that she has been meeting with us and even though some people have been telling her not to, she has focused on her faith and the spirit and she continues to meet with us and even invited her sister Casey to our lesson and Casey accepted a Book of Mormon and said she would be at the next lesson! It was amazing!!
-We had zone council meeting which is always so fun and so spiritually filled! I love the Greenville zone so much!!
-tried to get Frosty's at Wendy's on P day but they were out which was lowkey sad but Sister Fullmer came in clutch and brought us Ice cream sandwiches!!
-Got screamed at
-Did splits with some members on my kid's fourth day in the mission, she slayed those boots down and I can tell she is already a very amazing, diligent missionary!!
-Saw so many tender mercies that were very much needed!
My favorite scripture from this week was read to me and Sister Spiker at our first member meal on transfer day! Brother Hammond and his wife said they love to have the missionaries over and the first time instead of us sharing a message they want to share a message with us and wow it was powerful! Brother Hammond shared the scripture John 21: 15-17. This is when Jesus asks Peter 3x if he loves him and when Peter says of course, Jesus then tells him to Feed his Sheep. Now I can't write it as eloquently as Brother Hammond said it but oh well.... Christ asks us to show our love for him and the best way is to "feed his sheep" which can be interpreted into many things but for me it makes me think of sharing the joy and the love that comes from the gospel. Each day I have that chance and my love for each person I meet (even if they yell and scream at us) as increased so much! Now we aren't perfect and sometimes God has to ask us three times to help us realize we need to give a little bit more but no matter what, God's love for us will never decrease. He knows we won't be perfect and he loves us anyways which brings me a lot of hope!
I love yall and God loves you even more!!
Love, Sister Jolley:)
Quotes of the week:
"I'm leaving my family and going with you guys." -the Bishops kid
"I told em I was gonna pray to get a truck, and bam I had one" -Sandra
Us: "could we share a message about Jesus Christ with you?" Person on the phone: " Yes please do!" Person on the phone proceeds to hang up 2 seconds later... awkward
